Hail to the Hair

Have you ever taken cooked spaghetti noodles and tried to curl them? It doesn't work. They don't want to be curled and they will resist with a passion. So it is with the hair in this family. What, then, do we do with hair that is about as malleable as cooked spaghetti? We plait, of course! Happy are we, finally! "Long live braids and may they never fall out of favor," is my prayer.

Q & A

The most frequent question I get is "How do you get your daughter to hold still!"

You'll notice in most of the pictures, she has an ipad in her lap. (Maybe that's cheating.) She gets to play a game while I fix her hair. When I'm done, she's done too. If I limit the ipad to the time we're together getting ready for the day, this privilege stays fresh.
